Inside Serena Williams' lavish Bel Air home – and the eye-watering price she sold it for

Serena Williams has finally found a buyer for her home in Bel Air, Los Angeles, for an eye-watering price of US$8.1 million (AUD$11.26 million).

Although Williams sold it at a loss, which was lower than the original asking price, she originally bought the home for US$6.62 million (AUD$9.2 million) back in 2006.

The tennis champion has lived in the home for a decade and first tried to sell it back in 2017 with a price tag of US$12 million (AUD$16.68 million), but she was unable to find an interested buyer.

She then tried again this year in January, asking for $US10 million ($AUD13.9 million), but no one was on board again.

The home has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a gym, a bar and even a home hair salon, so it’s hard to see why no one wanted to snatch it up when it’s been on the market previously.

The home was built in the 1930s and is on a massive 1.11-hectare block.

The main bedroom suite has an elaborate marble bathroom, with a freestanding bathtub that features gold feet and taps.

There’s also a luxurious dressing room, complete with chandelier. The home also features private access to local hiking trails and a swimming pool with an adjoining cabana.

No tennis court though!
