7 household items that make travelling easy

Seasoned travellers know they key to a good holiday is packing correctly and leaving prepared. With these seven items, rectify quirky travel problems before they happen.

1. Sticky tape

Stop jewellery from getting tangled by taping them up before packing them.

2. Pencil case

Rather than ruining an expensive make up bag with unwanted spills, grab a pencil case from the supermarket that you won’t mind ruining.

3. Bubble wrap

Going on a ling bus or car ride? Travel in comfort during long road trips by covering the seat and back with two layers of bubble wrap, with the bubbles facing out.

4. Clothing pegs

The curtains at some hotels won’t stay fully closed, meaning you lose privacy and light gets in while you’re trying to sleep. Store clothes pins in your bag to clamp draperies together if they don’t shut.

5. Balloons

An uninflated balloon takes up next to no space in your luggage but can turn into a handy makeshift heat pad or ice pack.

6. Binder clip

Clamp a large binder clip over the head of your razor (or other sharp objects) to protect the blade in your toiletry bag.

7. Dryer sheets

Stick a dryer sheet between clothing items as you pack. You’ll arrive at your destination with fresh-smelling wardrobe. Plus, you can put the sheet in front of the AC in a hotel to blow a pleasant scent into the room.
