Danish Royals’ holiday album: Inside Princess Mary and Prince Frederik’s summer getaway

While the Southern Hemisphere endures the final month of winter, the Danish Royal family are soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the ocean breeze on a family getaway in Denmark.

This week, Princess Mary and her husband Prince Frederik took their four children – Prince Christian, 12, Princess Isabella, 11, and seven-year-old twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine – on a sailing trip around Denmark over the summer break.

During the trip, the royals visited Knuthenborg Safari Park, which is the largest safari reserve in Northern Europe.

Photos of the family during their trip were shared on their official Instagram account, including snaps of Princess Josephine feeding a lemur and Princess Mary feeding a giraffe.

The family travelled around Denmark by sailing on boat, which is one of the 50-year-old future King of Denmark’s favourite activities.

Last year, Frederik and Mary visited Sydney so the heir to the Danish throne could enjoy a day of sailing on the harbour as a guest of Wild Oats for the CYCA SOLAS Big Boat Challenge.
