Why Camilla WILL be joining Prince Charles in Australia

The Duchess of Cornwall has announced that she will be joining Prince Charles when he visits Australia in a couple of months, caving into public backlash after initial reports that she was not to join her husband.

Prince Charles is officially opening the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast on April 4, before touring parts of Queensland and Northern Territory, on his six-day tour of Australia.

Initially, Camilla was not going to join Charles as she dislikes long-haul flights. But following a public backlash, she has had a change of heart.

However, she will not be joining Charles on her tour and will only be staying in Australia for the Opening Ceremony for two days – from April 4-6.

With Charles only returning to the UK on April 10, some have speculated that he may miss the birth of his third grandchild.

Kensington Palace has confirmed Prince William and Kate are expected to welcome their third child anytime in April.

Speaking about his love for being a grandfather, Charles previously said, "It's a different part of your life."

"The great thing is to encourage them. Show them things to take their interest. My grandmother did that, she was wonderful."

"It is very important to create a bond when they are very young,” he added.
