The stunning $5.86 million luxury home that Jackie O missed out on

Radio host Jackie O narrowly missed out on a luxury Sydney home that sold for $5.86 million at a heated auction on Saturday.

The Kyle & Jackie O co-host, who had seen the five-bedroom property on 13 Fitzwilliam Road in Vaucluse for the first time that day, entered the bidding in the middle of proceedings at $5.51 million. She attended the auction with her estranged husband Lee Henderson and their seven-year-old daughter Kitty.

The 44-year-old radio personality went on to engage in a bidding war with the eventual buyer – a downsizer from Vaucluse – reaching 32 bids between them.

Another couple joined the bidding at $5.22 million and made their only bid, taking the tally to a daring $5.8 million. However, Jackie countered with $5.805 million.

Afterwards, Jackie O and the Vaucluse man exchanged bids of $5,000 until he won the keys at more than half a million above the price guide of $5.25 million.

Richardson and Wrench Double Bay agent Michael Dunn told the Wentworth Courier that the auction was one of the most exciting he’d ever seen in his career.

“It’s right up there … in terms of drama,” Dunn said.

The home was previously owned by the former executive director of boutique investment managers Implemented Portfolios, Adam Seccombe and his wife Seana, who purchased it for $3.2 million in 2012.

The two-storey house, which lies on an 898 sqm block, features an outdoor pool, four-and-a-half bathrooms, multiple living and dining areas and a private driveway. In its listing, it was described as offering “grand classical Georgian and Amalfi Coast influences”, “a sunny North-East aspect and tropical garden”, and “sweeping terraces and poolside entertaining areas”.
