Shots fired in attempted Bunnings robbery

Staff working at a Bunnings in Sydney’s south west have had a lucky escape from an armed robber who opened fire in their store.

A manhunt is underway for the gunman who attempted to rob the Sydney store last night.

Just before 9pm, the man fired several shots inside the Prestons store and threatened staff before fleeing empty-handed into a silver Mitsubishi Lancer.

Detectives describe the suspect as being of “caucasian appearance, about 170cm tall, and wearing dark-coloured jeans and a long-sleeved white shirt”.

No one was harmed in the attempted robbery.

Liverpool police have established a crime scene at the Bunnings and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
