Inside Cathy Freeman's spectacular $3.5 million Melbourne home

The former house of Olympic gold medallist Cathy Freeman is back on the market.

The five-bedroom, tri-level Melbourne residence is now on an "expressions of interest campaign" with a $3.4-$3.7 million price guide.

The iconic Australian sprinter owned the Kew property from 1996 to 2006, when she sold it to the current owners for $1.75 million.

According to selling agent Anton Zhouk, the “beautiful home” has not changed much since Freeman’s time in there.

Spanning 1,033m², the house is situated in the Studley Park enclave opposite Yarra Bend Park. It is equipped with two garden areas and three separate verandahs, one of which is overlooking a pool.

Inside the house, the highlights include a private sauna, a main bedroom with walk-in wardrobe and ensuite, a well-fitted study and polished Tasmanian Myrtle floorboards.

The floor-to-ceiling windows in the dining, living and family rooms also allow residents to enjoy the view of Yarra River. The current owners also told realestate.com.au that the “regular visitors” from native wildlife – including tawny frogmouths and fruit bats – makes it feel “like you’re living in the treetops”.
