Five amazing (and cheap) boat rides around Australia
With the smell of the sea air, and an ocean breeze blowing in your face, there’s not much that compares to a boat ride on a sunny day. What’s even better is a boating adventure that won’t break the bank. So we’ve put together a list of boat rides around Australia for less than $15.
Noosa Queen Sunset Cruise – $10
Cruise on the stunning Noosa River and watch the sun dip below the horizon. Once on board the Noosa Queen, you’ll wind your way from Noosa Marina, past Makepeace Island, and towards Lake Cooroibah. Watch daylight slip away, sipping on a glass of wine of a cold beer from the licensed bar, if you’re so inclined.
Sydney to Manly Ferry – $7.60
Sydney’s harbour is world famous for a reason – go and see for yourself. For concession cardholders, a return trip from Circular Quay will cost less than $10. Spend a day exploring Manly’s shops, restaurants, and magnificent beach.
Ettalong to Palm Beach Ferry – $11.20
Whichever end you start on, this trip gives you two hidden gems for the price of one. Palm Beach provides you with a beautiful walk along the one and only Summer Bay from Home and Away (even if you don’t watch the show, you’ll recognise the iconic strip of sand). Just a 40-minute ferry ride away, Ettalong is a holiday retreat with a bustling strip of shops and cafes to explore.
Port Princess Dolphin Cruise – $8
With the Port River recently declared a dolphin sanctuary, it’s the perfect place to spend a happy hour or two in the hopes you’ll see some of the locals. Port Princess Dolphin cruises run between one and a half, and two and a half hours, and can choose to add a two-course meal to your outing for another $18.
Perth to Fremantle Ferry – $3.40
Cruise from Perth’s Barrack Street Jetty to Fremantle in under 45 minutes. Then back again if you like. This beautiful ferry ride is one you wouldn’t mind doing all day. Although you might want to hop off and stretch your legs between trips.
