Aussie man checks in single can of beer Perth-bound flight

An Australian man has successfully checked in a single can of beer as his luggage at Melbourne airport on Saturday.

The man known as Dean, who was travelling to Perth on Qantas flight QF777, only had the single can of Emu Export lager to check in.

The beer was dutifully tagged and sent off to be loaded onto the plane with the rest of the… conventional luggage.

Dean told the Daily Mail that he was thrilled to see his tinny arrive in Perth safe and sound as he wasn’t sure if it would make it. But lo and behold, the lone can of beer was waiting on the conveyor belt at baggage claim.

“My mate works at the airport and we hatched the plan as a laugh — I half didn’t expect it to come out the other end,” he said.

“But when it did it was sent out well in front of all the other luggage, so the baggage handlers obviously appreciated it.”

Dean was even prepared to file a lost luggage report if his can of beer did not turn up.

But there was no need. However, no word yet on whether or not the goods were damaged.
