Mystery creature in Daintree River baffles onlookers
Owner of the Solar Whisper Daintree River Wildlife Cruises, David White, discovered something unexpected in the mouth of the Daintree River in far north Queensland.
David was able to film the creature and posted it online to see if anyone could identify what it is.
“Looking for a crocodile at low tide in a mud puddle, found this instead, is it a mini whale, a fish or a mussel?” he said.
Some Facebook commenters took a stab at guessing what the creature could be.
One guess suggested a lungfish while another said, “Your own Daintree monster, like Nessie!”
A few others suggested it might be a mini whale.
“I think it's a mini whale as well,” said one user.
