5 ways to avoid the post-cruise blues

Going on a cruise is a blissful experience. Sun-filled days where you get to enjoy yourself and not have to worry about mundane everyday concerns such as cooking and housework.

Here are five ways you can make your transition back to everyday life more bearable.

1. Do some prep work before you leave

Before you go on your cruise, do some work to make your life easier when you come home. Clean the house thoroughly and finish off any errands so that when you come home you can feel organised and not stressed.

2. Don’t over-commit yourself on your first week back

When you come back from you cruise, don’t fill your week with appointments, work or social engagements. Although your friends and family will be excited to hear about your travels, take your time catching up with everyone so you don’t feel exhausted.

3. Give yourself a recovery day

If you are able to do so, dedicate one entire day for recovering from your trip. Even though you have just returned from a holiday, it is remarkable how worn out you can be at the end of a holiday.

4. Plan your next cruise

If you are feeling sad that your cruise is over, begin to plan your next one so you have something to look forward to. If you plan in advance you will also have time to monitor the best deals.

5. Go through your holiday photos

Spending time organising your holiday photos will not only remind you of all the memories you’ve just made but you’ll also have them ready to share to your friends and family.
