Australian city named world’s most liveable

For the fifth consecutive year, Melbourne has taken the top spot on the list of the world’s most liveable cities.

The Economist Intelligence Unit released their annual list, on which Melbourne managed to beat out second-place Austrian capital, Vienna by just 0.1 points.

Two more Australian cities made it into the list’s top 10, with Sydney and Perth reaching seventh and eighth place respectively, while Brisbane edged into the top 20 at number 18.

Amongst the least liveable cities were Tripoli, Lagos, Port Moresby, Dhaka, and Damascus.

In contrast, Victoria’s premier, Daniel Andrews bragged about his city’s win, "Melbourne has the best of everything and this title proves it," he said.

Good on ya’, Australia!
