Watch the beautiful moment this tiger is released back into the wild
Recent footage has emerged showing the moment a rare tiger was released back into the wild after being captured in a human-populated area of Russia.
Nicknamed “Uporny,” meaning “stubborn” in Russian, the Amur tiger is one of only 450 remaining in the world today.
The rare tiger was found wandering around Khabarovsky, and was subsequently captured. Rather than be placed into captivity, a government decision was made to release the tiger back into the wild within the area in which his species normally resides.
This remarkable video depicts the instant the tiger’s cage was opened, and the moment that he bounded back to freedom.
