URGENT recall for ice cream after major discovery

A popular ice cream brand has been urgently recalled and stripped from supermarket shelves over fears it may contain rubber.

Stores around the country have removed the Community Co’s cookies and cream ice cream that is sold at IGA stores and at independent retailers.

Food Standards Authority Australia and New Zealand issued the recall earlier this week.

Customers who have purchased the ice cream are being urged to return it, however the recall only relates to the one litre tubs with a best before date of March 9,2023.

“The recall is due to the potential presence of foreign matter (rubber),” the alert read.

“Food products containing rubber may cause illness (or) injury if consumed.”

Consumers are urged not to eat the product and instead to return it for a full refund.
