This year's must-have $100 Christmas toy is a huge disappointment

A mother has taken to social media to warn parents and grandparents about this year’s must-have Christmas toy, which has turned out to be a huge disappointment.

Ciara Umar was well and truly on the festive season hype train when she purchased the $99.99 LOL Big Surprise for her daughter Elisa, but when she opened it she was livid.

The mega limited-edition version of the LOL Big Surprise is advertised with the audacious boast of featuring 50 gifts in each individual ball, but as you can see from the mother-of-one’s social media post, this is far from the case.

Umar wrote: “So Elisa got the big lol surprise today I would definitely not recommend if you don’t want to waste your money the pic on the right is all you get just pre warning.”

Umar is not the only mother to criticise the product on social media.

One Facebook user wrote: “Oh my god that’s terrible! How can they justify the price! Definitely won’t be getting one if that’s all u get.”

“So after you open it all you just end up with some really small pieces of plastic stuff? Is that it? It would be a no from me. It’s pointless,” another wrote.

MGA Entertainment, the company that manufactures the product, responded to criticism saying, “The LOL Big Surprise contains 50 exclusive surprises that can’t be found in other LOL products which individually are valued higher than the total RRP.”

What are your thoughts? Do you think this product justifies the $99.99 price tag? Or will you be getting your grandchildren something else this Christmas?
