The Queen still rides a horse at 90

She’s just celebrated her 90th birthday, but it looks like the Queen is still as energetic as ever! Her Majesty was spotted taking a horse ride along the banks of the River Thames in Datchet on Monday with her head groom. She took the reins wearing a cosy beige coat, headscarf and riding pants.

It also appears her lookalike great-granddaughter Princess Charlotte has inherited her love of horse riding, with the Duchess of Cambridge telling Team GB Olympic gold medallist Natasha Baker that the 17-month-old has already started to ride!

“I asked her how the children were, and she said Charlotte is really enjoying her riding — which is great to hear,” Baker told reporters yesterday at a Buckingham Palace reception for the country’s Olympic and Paralympic champions. “I said we may see her here on a line-up in 20 years’ time. She emphasized that Charlotte has this passion about horses and although she doesn’t echo it, she’ll do her best to champion and encourage it.”

Here’s hoping the royal tot follows in the footsteps of the family’s very own Olympic silver medallist, Zara Phillips!
