Phone addicts get their own “text-walking” lanes in Belgium

We’ve all seen those people. You know, the people whose noses are buried into their phones as they try to walk down the street, oblivious to the strangers jumping out of their way so they don’t bump into each other.

Well, Belgium has introduced a novel idea for these phone addicts: text-walking lanes. When local smartphone specialist, MLab, discovered just how many people who text while walking were bumping into people and dropping their smartphones, they painted on the “text-walking” lanes to prevent smartphones from breaking.

The only problem they didn’t foresee? These texters are too busy looking at their phones to notice if they’re in the right lane or not.
