Serena Williams shares touching tribute
Whether she’s finally facing off with Federer or juggling nappy duty, there’s not a lot that Serena Williams can’t do. She’s decided to celebrate the end of the year by shining the spotlight onto those who sometimes go unnoticed: working mothers and fathers.
Williams shared a New Year’s Eve post that outlined a day in the life of Serena Williams. It painted an intimate outlook on how the GOAT juggles being a mother whilst dominating her field in tennis.
As I head into next year it’s not about what we can do it’s what we MUST do as working moms and working dads. Anything is possible. I am getting ready for the first match of the year and my dear sweet baby @olympiaohanian was tired and sad and simply needed mama’s love. pic.twitter.com/1fdzV1bHSa

With her daughter Olympia snugged tightly in her arms, Williams still finds time to stretch before her first match.
So if it means warming up and stretching while holding my baby that’s what #thismama will do. My fellow moms and dads working- or stay home it’s equally as intense- but you inspire me. Hearing your stories makes me know I can do this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. pic.twitter.com/dCxzvedVBi

Ending off the sweet tweets with ‘This year is to you!’ referencing the working mothers and fathers, Williams is recognising the difficulties of balancing having a child and working in your career.
Olympia has turned into quite the show stealer, with her applauding her aunty, who just so happened to be her mother’s match opponent!
“That’s a classy baby, you know, she applauds both Mommy and my opponent who happened to be her auntie," Serena Williams told Sport360 about the video. "That was the highlight, seeing her clap, it was so cute."
With Serena Williams being so open about her parenting experiences, she’s bound to continue to be an inspiration for many.
