Australian seniors recreate iconic movie moments

A group of Illawarra seniors have transformed themselves from everyday Australians into iconic screen characters from the past in a series of elaborate photo shoots.

The Screen Dreams project, assisted by Wollongong Council, is part of a campaign to promote positive attitudes towards ageing. A professional photographer was hired to snap the pictures, while a make-up artist and her team were tasked with transforming their subjects into characters from The Addams Family, Mary Poppins and Grease.

Participants in the photo shoots ranged in age from 51 to 98, and were involved in every step of the project – from brainstorming ideas through to the final shoots.

The photographs will be on display at Wollongong Central from March 16 to 29 2015.
