Royal birthday! Prince Philip turns 98
Prince Philip celebrated his 98th birthday on June 10, just one day after the Queen’s Trooping the Colour parade in London.
The royal family sent him their best wishes and social media tributes were flooding the pages of the royal family members' accounts to celebrate the Queen’s husband of 71 years on Monday.
The official Royal Family Twitter page, which covers outings of the Queen and other prominent members, shared two photos of Philip: a recent shot of him smiling and a formal portrait where he’s wearing his military uniform from 1953.

The caption reads:
“Wishing His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh a very Happy 98th Birthday! #HappyBirthdayHRH The Duke of Edinburgh was born on this day in 1921. In the first picture HRH is pictured at Lady Gabriella Windsor and Thomas Kingston’s wedding this year. In the second picture His Royal Highness was photographed in 1953, 66 years ago.”
Prince Harry was quick to follow suit, wishing his “grandpa” a very happy birthday on the Sussex Royal Instagram account. He posted a photo of him and his grandfather smiling as well as an older pic of the Queen and Prince Philip dancing.
Many royal fans loved the cheeky comment of the nickname “Sir Grandpa”.
Clarence House, which is the official Twitter account of Prince Charles and Camilla, opted for a photo from the 1950s, which is a cute moment where Charles is holding hands with his father.

Not to be outdone by his brother, Prince William’s official Twitter account posted a four-photo tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh, wishing him a happy birthday as well. There are photos of Prince Philip and the Queen enjoying the sunshine, a photo of Prince William and Prince Philip sharing a laugh, another photo of Duchess Kate and Prince Philip laughing together, and a final photo with Prince Charles, Duchess Kate, Princess Charlotte, Prince George, Prince William, The Queen and Prince Philip looking up at the sky.
