Roger Federer's cheeky son steals the show at Wimbledon

Roger Federer got off to a rocky start during his Wimbledon campaign this month.

The world number three player, who has won eight titles at the tournament, said he “struggled” in the early stages of his first match after losing the first set against 22-year-old South African Lloyd Harris on Tuesday.

However, Federer got back on his feet and turned the game around to win 3-6 6-1 6-2 6-2.

“Every match has to be played and just because I have good results here in the past doesn’t mean I'll keep producing them,” Federer admitted.

“I struggled early on, a bit frozen and my legs weren’t going.

“Things happen very quickly and I think he did really well. He kept me nervous for a set and a half.”

While the game was going on, some special guests of Federer’s could be seen gritting their teeth in the audience.

The 37-year-old player was supported by his wife Mirka Federer and their two sets of twin children – Myla Rose and Charlene Riva, 9, and Leo and Lenny, 5.

One of the boys could be seen grimacing by the railing as his father battled through the difficult first set.

Despite their young age, Leo and Lenny have become budding tennis players themselves, Federer proudly admits.

“They've played for a few years now,” the sporting champ told CNN Sport last year.

“We roll the ball and hit it along the ground. The ball can bounce a bit more and they can whack it over the net sometimes.”

He added, “The girls also play a little bit … Actually we like them to play a bit because all the friends we have and their kiddies, they all play tennis and it would be a shame if my kids are the only ones who wouldn’t play tennis.

“I want them to do sports because I think it’s a great education, it’s good to be out there and healthy.”

In a recent interview with Vogue, the tennis great admitted that he used to get his twin children mixed up.

“I used to sometimes, if I couldn’t see their face right away,” he said. "But no, nowadays I’m a pro. Of course, I can tell them apart.”
