RECALLED anti-anxiety supplements

A batch of over-the-counter anti-anxiety supplements has been recalled over allergy fears, with any users of the popular supplement reported such reactions advised to seek medical attention.

The recall for Kynd Stress Relief tablets has been issued by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and parent company iNova Pharmaceuticals.

The items recalled are from batch 106585, which expires in August 2023 (08/2023). Users are advised to check the bottle for those details.

There have been reportedly “unexpected” reactions including rash, tingling or burning sensations on the skin, redness of the skin and itching and swelling of the throat, tongue, eyelids or face, according to the TGA.

People with those symptoms after taking the tablets are urged to immediately seek medical attention.

“Pharmacies, other retailers and wholesalers who have purchased this product are advised to inspect stock immediately and quarantine all units from the affected batch,” the authority said.

The cause of the reactions is unknown and iNova Pharmaceuticals has apologised to its customers.

“Your health and safety are incredibly important to us and we take it very seriously,” the company said on the Kynd website.

Kynd has made the decision to recall this product following reports of allergic reactions.
