RECALL ALERT: Peanut Butter brand recalled nationwide

IGA is urging shoppers to return a type of peanut butter after it was recalled over fears it may just trigger an allergic reaction to those with a nut allergy.

Pana Organic is recalling its 200g Peanut Butter Chocolate Spread over a previously undeclared allergen.

Consumers who have purchased the product for themselves from IGA are being encouraged to return it in exchange for a refund.

For more information, please contact Pana Organic on 1300 717 488.

The plant-based and gluten free spread contains tree nuts - cashews and pistachios.

Anyone with an allergy or intolerance to either nut may have a reaction if the spread is consumed.

The affected batch has a best before date of 05/02/2021.

The spread is sold at IGA, independent and specialty food stores across the country.
