Meet the barbershop quartet who won Australia’s first ever medal
A Brisbane barbershop quartet has become the first ever Australian group to nab a medal at an international event.
The group of 20-year-olds took out fourth place at the 77th Annual Barbershop Harmony Society's International Convention in Pittsburgh.
Michael Webber, Tim Green, Gareth Clarke and Trent Lewis performed Sammy Davis Jr.’s What Kind Of Fool Am I and Frank Sinatra’s I Won't Dance for their set.
"We weren't expecting much but ended up with a medal so we're more than happy with that,” said the group’s baritone, Webber.
"It's always been a pipe dream of ours to sing at internationals so it was great. And we're the first Australian quartet to ever medal at internationals which is exciting too."
