Princess Eugenie's Royal Wedding details revealed by Buckingham Palace

As Princess Eugenie’s wedding on October 12 draws closer, Buckingham Palace has announced new details about her special day.

Similar to her cousin Prince Harry’s royal wedding earlier this year, Princess Eugenie and her fiancé Jack Brooksbank will also be saying their vows at St George’s Chapel and will invite 1200 members of the public to witness the nuptials from the grounds of Windsor Castle.

The members of the public will include representatives of charities the couple support, schools they attended, as well as members of the Royal Household staff.

The remaining spots will be available for people to apply for via a public ballot.

After the couple emerge from the chapel on the West Steps after their wedding ceremony, they will also set off on a small carriage procession around Windsor.

Their route will be more similar to Prince Edward and Sophie’s than Harry and Meghan’s, as it will be shorter and go through Castle Hill to the Hight St and back through the Cambridge Gate for the reception.

In January, Eugenie, who is the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of York, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, announced her engagement to the 32-year-old.

In an interview with BBC’s The One Show, the Queen’s granddaughter said the proposal was "a complete surprise”, revealing that he popped the question while they watched the sunset over a lake in Nicaragua.

"The lake was so beautiful. The light was just a special light I had never seen,” she said.

“I actually said this is an incredible moment, and then he popped the question, which was really surprising even though we have been together seven years. "I was over the moon. [It was a] complete surprise. But it was the perfect moment, we couldn't be happier."

Mr Brooksbank said: "It was amazing."

Following the proposal, Eugenie said the Queen and Prince Philip were delighted for her.

"Granny actually knew right at the beginning [of the engagement]. She was very happy as was my grandfather."

The couple started dating in 2011 after meeting while both skiing in the Swiss resort of Verbier.
