Rare photo of Princess Diana on her Christening day revealed

Before she was a princess the late Diana Spencer was a little girl from Norfolk, England. Eighteen years on from her tragic death, the first ever picture of the “people’s princess” has been released.

In the black a white photograph, the then one-month-old Diana is wearing a borrowed christening dress and is being held in the arms of Lord and Lady Althorpe on her christening day in August 1961. Princess Charlotte’s christening was held in Sandringham in the same church her grandmother, Diana, was christened in.

From the ring on Kate’s finger to the name of Princess Charlotte including Diana, Prince William and daughter-in-law Kate Middleton are very much determined to keep Diana's memory alive.

The royal couple and their two children are also currently living in Sandringham, Norfolk, where Diana spent much of her childhood.
