Prince Harry has officially landed in Sydney

Prince Harry has officially landed in Sydney, arriving Tuesday evening for a whirlwind 48-hours in the harbour city.

The 32-year-old left Sydney Kingsford Smith airport last night flanked by a large security team as he prepares to launch the start of the 500-day countdown for the 2018 Invictus Games.  

The Invictus Games, which Harry founded, is an international sporting event for military veterans who have suffered an injury or illness. The first games were held in London in 2014, and the 2016 event held in Orlando, Florida.

The royal has a busy two days of official duties ahead of him. He begins this morning launching the Games at Admiralty House in Kirribilli this before meeting with members of the Australian Invictus team.

This afternoon, the humanitarian prince will head to Circular Quay to watch a variety of sports demonstrations like wheelchair basketball, volleyball and wheelchair rugby. He'll cap off his Wednesday watching a boat race on Sydney Harbour

On Thursday, Harry will check out the locations of the 2018 Games and be briefed on the progress of the event.
