Pippa Middleton’s bizarre request for her wedding guests

In just over a week’s time, in what’s turning out to be one of the most anticipated weddings of the year, Pippa Middleton will marry 40-year-old hedge fund manager James Matthews.

So far, the Duchess of Cambridge’s 33-year-old sister has made her wedding plans well known, including naming Prince George as page boy and Princess Charlotte as flower girl, breaking her “no ring, no bring” rule (meaning no unmarried plus-ones) to invite Prince Harry’s girlfriend Meghan Markle, and even revealing her strict pre-wedding diet.

Now, it seems, she has one last request of her guests, and it has some people scratching their heads. According to reports, attendees at the £250,000 ($440,000) nuptials have been asked to bring a second outfit for the reception.

Of course, it’s not unusual for a bride to change into a more comfortable outfit ahead of the reception, but social media users are criticising the demand as “a tad ridiculous and over the top.” Another Twitter user agreed, noting, “it’s hard enough to nail the perfect one outfit for a high-profile, society wedding, let alone two.”

Time will only tell if guests decide to follow the new rule, but one thing’s for sure – all eyes will be on Pippa on her exciting day.

Tell us in the comments below, what do you think about the request? Should guests be forced to change outfits for the reception?
