Paul Burrell makes explosive claims about Princess Diana

For years, he’s made a living off selling stories from behind the closed doors of Buckingham Palace, and former royal butler Paul Burrell’s time on I’m a Celebrity Australia has been no different.

The 59-year-old claimed that Prince Charles left Princess Diana in hospital right after Prince Harry’s birth to meet up with Camilla Parker Bowles.

Burrell alleged that, upon seeing Harry in his cot, Charles said, “now I have an heir and a spare,” then left a heartbroken and tearful Diana in hospital, saying, “my work is done, isn't it, now? I’m off to the theatre with Camilla.”

Diana reportedly told Burrell that, “on the night that Harry was born, I cried myself to sleep, knowing my marriage was over.”

The ex-royal staff member also claimed that Diana predicted her own death in a letter she allegedly wrote him explaining she believed Charles was planning an “accident”.

“These next few months, are the most difficult months of my life,” Diana wrote, according to Burrell. “I fear my husband is going to kill me. In an automobile accident. With head injuries. In order that he can remarry.”

“Her words,” Burrell said. “Her writing. Her stationary. I said to her, ‘You don't really think that, do you?’ Then she said, ‘I don’t know, these thoughts get in my head. I get the voices and feelings and I write then to you at night.’

“She leaves them on my desk so I can read her thoughts the next morning. That is spooky. She predicted her own death nine months before she died.”

Tell us in the comments below, do you think there’s any truth to Burrell’s stories? Or is he simply trying to cash in on Diana’s tragic death?
