"No words": Richard Wilkins and David Campbell pay tribute to Michael Gudinski
Critically acclaimed Australian music promoter Michael Gudinski has passed away at the age of 68.
Known as “the father of Australian music,” he was the founder of Mushroom Music and signed on some of the world’s biggest names, including Kylie Minogue, during the 1980s.
Today Extra host David Campbell and Nine Entertainment Editor Richard Wilkins remembered the legacy left behind by Mr Gudinski with a special tribute.

"I personally believe he built this music industry almost single-handedly," Campbell said.
"Dickie, I don't know if I have words for this," he said, choking up.
"No, I think you speak for everyone," Wilkins said.
"Michael Gudinski is one of those people who is known by people around the world. It's impossible to overstate his contribution to Australian music.

"His tentacles touched every part of the industry.
"It's so sad".
Campbell remembered Mr Gudinski for supporting Australian artists.
"Australian music is where it is because of Michael Gudinski," he said on Today.

"He believed in Aussie artists and he backed them. He was driven, passionate and one eyed on how great our musicians and artists are.
"The only thing he was more passionate about was his family. A true giant."
Russell Rowe made an emotional post to Twitter, praising Gudinski for his significance in the music industry.
RIP Michael Gudinski. Seems almost impossible. A towering figure on the Australian cultural landscape.

Kylie Minogue also took to Twitter to pay respects to the Australian legend, writing: "MICHAEL GUDINSKI - Legend. Legacy. LOVE.
"A Titan of the music industry. One of a kind and forever family to me. My heart is broken and I can’t believe he’s gone. Irreplaceable and unforgettable, I’ll always love you ‘The Big G’."
Mr Gudinski is survived by his wife Sue and children Kate and Matt.
