Top 4 winners of the National Geographic Photo Contest 2015 will amaze you

This majestic photograph of a humpback whale and her newborn calf took out first prize in National Geographic’s annual photography competition. All up, more than 17,000 entries were submitted. Three photos are awarded winning places and seven are recognised on merit. Here are just four of them.

1. The esteemed first place was won by Anuar Patjane for this amazing photo of whale whisperers – diving with a humpback whale and her newborn calf at Roca Partida island, in Revillagigedo, Mexico. 

2. Three gravel workmen looking through the window at work place Chittagong, Bangladesh by Faisal Azim received the second place gong.

3. Third place was a scene of camel racing in Oman by Ahmed Al Toqi.

4. Two boys trying to catch a duck at the stream of the waterfall in Nong Khai province, Thailand by Sarah Wouters came in at fourth place.
