Melania Trump speaks out about Donald Trump’s affairs in TV interview

In the program titled The First Lady, due to air on the American network ABC in the US on Friday, interviewer Tom Llamas reminds Melania Trump: “You did agree to this interview, to your credit, with no preconditions. Knowing that there could be some tough questions asked.”

While many of Mrs Trump’s answers are kept under wraps in the teaser released by the network, we do see the very direct questions Tom Llamas poses to her, including about President Trump’s cheating. His tawdry dalliance with outspoken porn star Stephanie Clifford, better known as Stormy Daniels, has become an unseemly saga regularly hitting the headlines.

Llamas throws down the gauntlet with the question: “You’re not the first First Lady to have to deal with your husband’s infidelities, has this put a strain on your marriage?” reported news.com.au.

But we do see the First Lady’s response to her stance on the #MeToo movement, a difficult situation for her, given her support for her husband.

“Can women in the #MeToo movement call you a supporter?” asked the journalist.

“I support the women and they need to be heard,” she responded. “We need to support them, and also men, not just women. We need to have hard evidence that, you know, that if you are accused of something, show the evidence.”

Also covered in the interview is that infamous fashion faux pas where the First Lady wore a parker emblazoned on the back with “I Really Don’t Care Do You?” as she visited child immigrants who had been separated from their parents at the US-Mexico border.

“Let’s talk about the jacket,” said Llamas.

“The jacket,” she smiled.

The First Lady was recently the subject of another fashion controversy during her visit to Africa – where the interview was filmed – for wearing a “colonial” white pith helmet.
