Married for 81 years and still going VERY strong
Dale and Alice Rocky of Kansas City have been married for 81 years, and are still going strong after all this time.
The couple’s story has become news around the world after they were honoured by the Worldwide Marriage Encounter, who called for nominations for the longest marriage in America.
The couple began dating in 1933, going for their first date just hours before they were both supposed to go on a double date with other people. “I asked her, ‘do you want to go for a ride?’”, Dale recalls fondly of their first meeting.
The couple were married on December 29 that year, and have been inspiring their five sons, 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren ever since. When asked if they still love each other after all this time, Dale replied, “You’re damn right!”
