Husband discovers secret note from his deceased wife

When Jimmy Breland’s wife of 60 years passed away, he was devastated. But two days after her passing on January 13, he found a note from the only person in the world who could cheer him up: the-love-of-his-life, Billie Breland.

Before she had passed away, Billie had written a note and tucked it inside her chequebook.

“Please don’t cry because I died! Smile because I lived! Know that I’m in a happy place!” the 83-year-old had written.

“Know that we will meet again! I’ll see you there!” she also wrote.

According to the couple’s grandson Cliff Sims, his grandmother was an avid note writer.

“We don't know exactly when she did it, but she left one final note tucked inside her checkbook — but this one wasn't for her, it was for my Grandaddy,” he wrote on the YellowHammer News website.

Sims said Billie always thought of others before herself.

“It perfectly sums up the hope and comfort that comes with knowing you'll meet again in eternity,” Sims added.
