Incredible shots of cyclone Debbie from space

The International Space Station (ISS) have captured footage of cyclone Debbie approaching the Queensland coast.

The monster storm is expected to make landfall later today just south of the coastal town of Bowen.

Cyclone Debbie is a category four cyclone with winds of up to 250km/h.

YouTube account Force 13 shared the video of the footage which was recorded during the ISS live stream.

The enormous storm cell is seen clouding over the Coral Sea and the eye of the storm is visible in the footage.

Nasa shared a photo of the cyclone on Twitter and said, “Satellites watched as Tropical Cyclone Debbie intensified into a hurricane off the coast of eastern Australia.”

Viewers around the globe sent wishes to residents in Queensland who are facing the storm.

“Dear Australians and other people down under... Please stay safe,” one user said.

“It's amazing how huge Debbie is. But a serious threat to the Australians living in Queensland. Stay safe! ” another wrote.
