Grant Denyer bids emotional farewell to Family Feud

Family Feud host Grant Denyer has bid an emotional farewell to the hit game show that resurrected his career.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Denyer shared a photo of his final day on-set and wrote: "Hardest thing I've ever done. Saying goodbye to this. Final records are now done. It saved my career.”

He added: "I've worked with the nicest people in my life. A massive crew who have worked harder than I ever had to make u laugh every night. They put the show before their families, friends & lives. I can't repay that. But I want them to know I love them so much. I've had the absolute best time. Pure magic. You rarely get this chance to have this much fun and make an impact.

"To the 5000 families who played with us... thank you. Tonight I raise a glass, never been so happy or thankful. A dream come true."

Denyer served as host of the show for four years before his shock announcement last month that the show had been axed by Network 10.

The remaining episodes of Family Feud are due to air in the latter half of 2018.

But fortunately fans of the show won’t have to wait long for their favourite host to return to TV.

Denyer will be the host the Australian version of Game of Games, a new show created and hosted be Ellen DeGeneres in the US.

"I'm hungry and excited about this new project," Grant tells TV WEEK.

"Something new and bright comes along in moments when doors close," he says.

"Ten has been a wonderful family to be part of. They want to continue making fun television."
