Grandpa who got stood up on date reacts to internet fame
Last week, we brought you the heartbreaking story of a grandpa who had been stood up by a date.
Jim Moroney, 73, had planned a date with a woman he met online. According to his granddaughter Gabby, her grandfather drove 45 minutes to meet the lady and even brought along roses and sweets. Unfortunately, his date never turned up.
Gabby shared the picture of her broken-hearted grandfather on social media and it quickly went viral, with thousands rallying behind the grandpa and sending him encouragement and well-wishes.
A few days ago, Gabby recorded herself explaining to her grandpa that his story had gone viral and that a million people had seen it.
“Oh, Jesus,” exclaims her grandpa.
Gabby then shows him the many heart-warming responses to his story and Jim looks moved.
“One good thing came out of it,” he says on camera. “This ticker in here feels a little bit better right now.”
