Former Today Tonight host Jill Singer has died
Award-winning reporter and former Today Tonight host Jill Singer has passed away at the age of 60, after being diagnosed with a rare blood condition earlier this year.
The influential journalist, who taught hundreds while working at RMIT University, had a statement released on her Facebook page this morning, confirming her passing.
The post, written by her partner Anthony Brand, read: “Our friend, colleague, teacher, my wife, proud mother and grandmother, lover of life has ‘got on with it’.
“So missed, a bright life who made a difference. Always loved. RIP.”
Singer had been diagnosed with AL amyloidosis, a terminal blood disorder, just four months ago, after which she married her partner of four years, Brand.
Social media has been flooded with tributes for the influential journo:
Jill Singer was my FAVOURITE lecturer at @RMIT. She thought it would be hilarious to colour my eyebrows in with texta before we went on air.
