Meet Dreamworld’s new baby tiger
Dreamworld on the Gold Coast has welcomed the arrival of an adorable newborn tiger cub.
The yet unnamed little cat was born to nine-year-old Bengal tiger, Nika, and an 11-year-old Sumatran tiger, Raja. He arrived on Saturday and is the first cub to be born at the park in the last seven years.
Dreamworld, which funds a number of tiger conservation projects, says the birth will help raise awareness.
“This reinforces our program and gets us to talk about tiger conservation, as tigers [fare] very poorly in the wild,” said Tiger Island manager Patrick Martin-Vegue
"This cub right here, he will be a big part of fundraising and a big part of raising awareness as well."
