Take a look inside this loving retirement home for senior dogs

Unfortunately, older animals without a home are often passed over for adoption because of their advanced age and medical conditions. It’s a heartbreaking truth for these pets who still have so much love to give. But one woman and her team of dedicated volunteers is helping to change the lives of senior pets living out their twilight years.

Sher Polvinale runs the House With A Heart Senior Pet Sanctuary in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Its residents are older cats and dogs who have lost their families and homes through no fault of their own. Under the careful care of Sher and her team, these animals have their every need catered to.
