Couple gives $60 million lottery win away

Ruby Sorah and her husband, both 90, have given away a $US43 million ($60 million) lottery, keeping just $5 to buy a spark plug for their lawnmower.

Mrs Sorah matched all six numbers in the Florida Lotto last week, but instead of going on a decadent spending spree the couple shared the winnings with family and friends.

Rick O’Callaghan, whose brother is one of the couple’s neighbours, told Fox 13 the decision was heart-warming, saying “It’s great. They’re the quietest, nicest, most reserved people you ever saw in your life. He only comes out to get the mail.”

“Still mows his own lawn. Real, real simple people, got a real, real simple life.”

What an incredible act of generosity!
