Charlotte looks just like dad! Royal fans gush over childhood snap of Prince William
It’s commonly thought that Princess Charlotte looks just like her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, but one royal fan has brought to light just how much she looks like her father Prince William.
An image posted on Instagram shows a young Prince William and Princess Charlotte side by side with what the fan calls the “Diana Smirk”, referring to the late Princess Diana's famous smile. The post has been liked over 18,200 times.
“Look at this and tell me they don’t look alike (to me),” wrote the royal fan alongside the image. “Ever since she was little, Charlotte has had the ‘Diana Smirk’ which William obviously got from Diana and Charlotte got from her daddy! She is definitely daddy’s little lookalike and daddy’s little girl!”
According to the Daily Mail, the picture of the Prince seen in a racing suit and holding a helmet was taken when he was 10 years old. The adjoining picture of Charlotte, three years old, was taken at Princess Eugenie’s wedding last week.
Many on Instagram agreed with the resemblance with one person writing, “Wow!!!! Now that’s twinning! She is the spitting image of her father in this photo.”
But others still stuck to the view that young Princess Charlotte took after her great-grandmother, the Queen. They noted that in the same wedding photo of the young royal posted alongside her father on Instagram, she was sporting the same pose the monarch has adopted, resting her hands together on her lap.
One commentator was adamant about the resemblance saying, “She is her great grandmother.”
