Brotherly feud dividing the royal family

With the royal spotlight shining so brightly on the adorable Prince George and Princess Charlotte, it’s only too easy for any bitterness among the family to fade into the background. However, a growing number of reports suggest there is a nasty feud between Prince Charles and Prince Andrew which threatens to divide the royals like never before.

The Express broke the story of the spat, after Andrew reportedly wrote a letter to the Queen requesting his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Eugenie, be given the same responsibilities and privileges as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry – including a similar accommodation and more of a full-time role of royal duties.

“He believes his daughters are already being overshadowed by William, Kate and Harry and the situation will get worse as Prince George and Princess Charlotte get older,” a source close to the family revealed. “He has long argued that as the only ‘blood princesses’ in the family, Beatrice and Eugenie deserve proper royal roles like their cousins, along with the same standard of accommodation at Kensington Palace. He fears that they will be totally sidelined when the Queen dies.”

Her Majesty was reportedly so deeply shocked upon receiving the letter that she gave it to her private secretary, Christopher Geidt, to deal with.

Andrew has also brought the issue directly to his brother, who would prefer a more “streamlined” royal presence, focusing only on William, Catherine and Harry at official events. “The last thing [Charles] wants is additional criticism by keeping peripheral royals on the public payroll.”

Tell us in the comments below, do you think Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie should be given equal rights and responsibilities as Harry, William and Catherine?
