Australia's worst dole-bludging suburbs revealed

A federal government report has revealed the Aussie suburbs which have the most dole bludgers who miss job interviews and work-for-the-dole appointments.

The report suggests nearly 50,000 people in Australia that are capable of working failed to attending job interviews in the past year, and are not being penalised.

Human Services Minister Alan Tudge said there would be a government crackdown on people who are deliberately flouting the welfare system.

"There are hotspots around Australia where some people are consistently failing to turn up to job interviews," Mr Tudge told the TODAY Show.

"They have been getting away with that and we are determined to change that system."
