Another scandal for Masterchef judge George Calombouris

Masterchef judge George Calombouris is facing legal action over mass food poisoning at one of his Melbourne restaurants.

Around 90 diners at Calombouris’ Hellenic Republic, in Kew, allege to have become violently ill after eating from a set menu on Mother's Day in 2014.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports, diner David Schreuder suing the restaurant and the Masterchef host's Made Establishment group after eating food that was found to be likely contaminated with gastroenteritis by a staff member.

Calombaris has recently been in hot water for underpaying nearly 200 staff at his restaurants, equating to roughly $2.6 million in missing wages.

He was also filmed shoving a person heckling him about the pay bungle at the A-League grand final this month. He has been charged with assault.
