ABC radio star passes away suddenly

ABC radio star Sarah Tomlinson has sadly passed away after suffering an anaphylactic shock.

The chief of staff for ABC Mildura-Swan Hill in South Australia was on annual leave when she suddenly fell ill.

Ms Tomlinson’s friends have paid heart-felt tributes, remembering her as “generous” and “deeply passionate” about her work, having started her broadcasting career at only 14 years of age.

Sarah went on work to work at Radio Adelaide before she hosted Mornings and Regional Drive for ABC South Australia and Broken hill. In 2018 Ms Tomlinson worked hard to become the chief of staff at ABC Mildura-Swan Hill.

Writer and activist Carly Findlay shared that she was “devastated” by the loss, describing her as “a joy and a brilliant friend”.

ABC Journalist Christopher Testa said Ms Tomlinson “had the right joke or pun for any moment” and “loved getting on the tools to film reporters” and ARN presenter, Jennie Lenman shared Sarah was “calm, rational and kind”.

Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek also paid tribute, saying Ms Tomlinson was “hardworking, smart, generous, and deeply passionate about community radio”.

“Thinking of all who loved her at this very sad time.”
