8 slang terms that need to make a comeback

There are so many words and terms that we grew up hearing that have escaped our vocabulary today. Take a walk down memory lane as we look at some our favourite slang terms from yesteryear.

1. Burn rubber

According to The Online Slang Dictionary, burn rubber means “to accelerate quickly in an automobile, such that the tires don't get traction with the ground and spin freely.”

2. Dullsville

Dullsville is “a boring place”.

3. Egghead

An Egghead describes someone who is unsociable, smart and a nerd.

4. Get on the horn

To ‘get on the horn’ is to use the telephone.

5. Rag top

A ragtop is “an automobile with a convertible top.”

6. Shuckster

A shuckster describes a trickster, cheat or liar.

7. Square

While we all know that a square is a shape, it can also describe someone who is old-fashioned and out of touch.

8. Wig chop

A wig chop is the slang term for a haircut.
