The Today Show: Awkward moment leaves Karl Stefanovic red-faced
With everything that’s already happened this year it wouldn’t surprise anyone to hear Karl Stefanovic was treading very carefully around Channel 9 headquarters, which was probably why he was so cautious when he invited the Today show panel to "whinge" about his bad habits this morning.
The comments were provoked by a segment with Peter Beattie, who dismissed “whinging” critics of the Commonwealth Games closing ceremony.
“Whingeing is good for your health, you get it off your chest,” Georgie Gardner began.
“So I'd like to kick things off with my No. 1 whinge about you...”
But a flustered Karl quickly interrupted.
“Should we start with Sylvia?” he said, looking over at his sister-in-law.
Georgie was quick to hit back, saying: “Are you trying to control traffic again? Back in your box, Karl.”
But if you thought Georgie was going to address the protruded Uber-gage saga you were wrong, as Georgie’s number one whinge about Karl turned out to be his signing.
“I think I speak for the whole country, please don't sing,” she said dryly.
Rather than become camera shy, this criticism only seemed to spur Karl on, as you can see below.
