Matildas star Sam Kerr's secret proposal pics
Sam Kerr has finally confirmed her engagement with Kristie Mewis.
The Matildas captain took to Instagram to share her proposal pictures over two months after the couple's rumoured secret engagement.
"September 1st, 2023," she captioned the photos, with a white love heart.
The first photo showed Kerr down on one knee as she proposed to Mewis. It was then followed by a close up shot of the ring and the happy couple celebrating their engagement.
Fans first speculated that the couple secretly got engaged in September after they spotted a diamond ring on Mewis' left hand in footage posted on Gotham FC's official Instagram page.
Then on September 25, Kerr posted a series of photos with friends and loved ones, where fans again spotted the ring on her partner's hand.
As Australia prepared for the three qualifying matches in Perth on October, and Kerr was honoured with a football centre named after her, the couple kept silent despite growing speculation.
In early-November, Mewis confirmed the news in an interview with People magazine, just a few weeks before Kerr also confirmed the news.
Their engagement photos were met with congratulatory messages from friends and fans alike.
"Here they are love you guys," wrote Matildas teammate Mackenzie Arnold.
"LOVE LOVE LOVE," added Kerr's Chelsea teammate Millie Bright.
"Congratulations lovers 🥰 " added Matildas teammate Alanna Kennedy.
"We’re not crying happy tears, you are 🤍" wrote one fan.
