Kate Langbroek clarifies marital status after "split" comments taken out of context
Radio presenter Kate Langbroek, who co-hosts the Hughesy and Kate show on HIT Network, has been forced to clarify her comments on a podcast.
Earlier in the week, she was on the second series premiere of PodcastOne’s A Life Of Greatness where she discussed her son’s cancer battle as well as her relationship with her husband, Peter Allen Lewis.
While Langbroek was speaking about her husband, she explained that they had a rough start and temporarily broke up due to her husband displaying “controlling” behaviours.
While they were dating, the pair split up for 18 months.
On Wednesday evening, Dave Hughes brought up the “split” on their show.
"What the hell is going on?" asked Hughesy, with mock shock.
"Oh my God, now I have to hide every media outlet, every electronic device and every magazine from my husband," Langbroek joked to Hughesy and guest host Denise Scott, who is filling in for Langbroek while she's on annual leave. "I don't want him to know we've split up!"
Hughesy wanted answers and asked whether or not Langbroek has split up with her husband or not.
“If you’re gonna split up with him, why tell every media organisation in Australia before you’ve told your husband?” Hughesy asked.
"No," said Langbroek. "I was talking about when we were dating and split up. That was like 18 years ago!"
She then clarified that her husband would probably not see the reports as he has little interest in the media.
She currently lives in Bologna, Italy with her husband and four children.
